Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi JKIA – Nairobi

Upon arrival at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) you go through the immigration and customs formalities. Outside the terminal building you are met by our representative and assisted to your transfer vehicle. From here followed by a road transfer to the hotel for overnight on bed and breakfast basis (other meals are on own arrangements).

Day 2: Nairobi (resting day)

Today an easy start. After a full breakfast it is up to you if you wish to relax from the flight or possibly do some sightseeing within Nairobi. We can arrange activities like the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Center, Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, or some souvenir shopping.

Day 3: Nairobi – Masai Mara

After breakfast it is time to start your safari! Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive through the Great Rift Valley, with a stopover at the rift valley view point for photos and short rest and proceed on to the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. Check in at the camp/lodge and have lunch. Later proceed for an afternoon game drive before you return to the camp/lodge for dinner followed by overnight.

Day 4: Masai Mara (full day game drive)

After breakfast, leave the camp/lodge and start exploring the rolling grasslands and wide-open spaces in search of wildlife of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. You may even have the exciting opportunity to spot the phenomenal annual wildebeest migration, depending on the time of year you choose to visit.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

Enjoy an early morning game-drive followed by breakfast. Thereafter depart from the camp/lodge with game viewing en-route to Lake Naivasha. This fresh water lake is one of the Great Rift Valley’s jewels, reflecting the tranquil beauty of an African sky and the surrounding mountains.

Day 6: Lake Naivasha

Today we have planned a rest day in your safari itinerary. Wind down and take it easy this day. Enjoy the hotel/resort facilities and optional activities on offer. In the afternoon a relaxing 1-hour boat ride is planned. This a good way to explore the lake with unique chances of seeing hippos and different species of birds.

Day 7: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

Drive through typical African savanna country dotted with local homesteads and colorful Masai herdsmen and their cattle. When you enter the park game drive en-route to the camp/lodge where you arrive in time for lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure utilizing the facilities at the lodge. Later proceed for an afternoon game drive in one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close.

Day 8: Amboseli National Park – Tsavo East National Park

Leave the Amboseli National Park with game viewing en-route as you leave the park heading to the western part of Tsavo National Park; the largest of Kenya’s protected areas. Check in at the camp/lodge and have lunch. Later proceed for an afternoon game drive in this versatile park.

Day 9: Tsavo East – Mombasa

After breakfast, make the last game drive until lunch you depart for the beautiful south coast of Mombasa. If preferred, the game drive can be skipped and you could drive directly to the beach hotel/resort and arrive in time for lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure utilizing the facilities at the beach hotel/resort.

Day 10 & 11: Mombasa

These two days you can fully relax and unwind along the beautiful beach of Mombasa. Luxuriate yourself in one of the bars, at the pool on a pool bed or by reading a good book while enjoying massage or beauty treatment. A variety of water-based activities are offered at the beach hotel/resort too. The perfect ending to a memorable journey.

Day 12: Mombasa – Nairobi

After an early breakfast it is time to collect your things and prepare to continue your journey back to Nairobi (arrival late afternoon). It will be a long day of driving (8-9 hours) of which all on paved roads. Alternatively, to avoid the lengthy overland drive a domestic flight could be arranged for you to save time. Overnight in Nairobi at the hotel on bed and breakfast basis (other meals are on own arrangements).

Day 13: Nairobi – Nairobi JKIA

A dayroom is arranged in the hotel (until 18:00hrs). In other words: you do not need to vacate the hotel and room as you await your flight departure. Perhaps there is time to do some sightseeing or last souvenir shopping (not included). Later on get transferred to Nairobi JKIA to connect with your onward international arrangements.

Overnight: No overnight, only dayroom
